The 65 pint GE dehumidifier is on clearance for $129. The 50 pint GE dehumidifier is $119. GE is a more reputable company than Soleus Air or other off brand dehumidifier. I know the life expectancy is short on most dehumidifier nowadays. But from I read online through customer reviews, GE will at least issue you a rebate if you dehumidifier fails within warranty period. Just my 2 cents

Looks like most of the dehumidifiers have a clearance price on walmart.com, just have to click on them to see the actual clearanced price.

Just an fyi, ge recently recalled a ton of dehumidifiers...

These probably aren't recalled or they wouldn't still be selling them (I hope) but it tells you a little about the quality (or lack thereof)..

Also, these aren't actually made by ge, they're made by some random company for them.

In for a 65 pint. Thanks OP!

In my opinion, it looks like the recall is totally unrelated (the units affected are much smaller). Many other brands and models are also on clearance on Walmart's site. It's that time of year Smilie

Edit:
It also looks pretty good according to the Energy Star list (higher energy factors are better)

Considered GE myself, but reviews, most everywhere I read, seem to indicate a life of about 1 year. I currently have 2 dehumidifiers, a LG and a Frigidaire (having had the former for over 3 years and the latter for a year and a half). The Frigidaire is top-notch, with a 5-year warranty on the main part, and, in my opinion, is the unit to buy, ALMOST regardless of the cost of the GE.

just because you haven't heard of media doesn't mean they are some random, fly by night operation. lol.

also, i dont consider 18 months ago as being recent.

Geez! Not trying to threadcrap here! Just giving some info for people to make an informed decision! Calm down!

And just looked up Midea, I take back what I said about them... Although the truth still is that this is probably not made by GE.

Too bad this wasn't a few days ago. Just bought a 70 pint Soleus at Menards for $208 Saturday and started it Sunday.
