Just picked up the same on cowboom for 65$ free shipping pre owned we will see if it's a keeper also picked up a galaxy note for 199$ if anybody was interested there still some available of both

price drops always happen in August or September. the new slimier version will probably come out in mid to end 2013, so prices will drop to about 150-200 for the current ps3 slime for blaque friday 2012.

I still have my fat ps3 (one repair). I made the mistake of buying a ps2 slim (already had a fat ps2) at the end of the console generation and its been collecting dust was hardly ever used. Nice though.

The new cheaper model PS3-4000 16GB will be flash memory based and is set to compete with the Xbox arcade. Expect it to drop next month. They are also updating to 300GB and 500GB in place of the 160GB and 250GB systems.

Honestly I just don't see the need for a new Playstation just yet. I just picked mine up on BF.

I'm very tempted to pick this up. My old 80 GB PS3 crapped out this weekend. Sucks about the lack of backwards compatibility though.

Deciding whether I want to pay for someone to fix my old one or just spend the money for a new one.

I wonder if Amazon threatened to stop selling the Playstation 3 if they weren't allowed to sell at this lower price. They used a similar tactic with Nintendo and it failed. Since then the USA Amazon has stopped selling the 3DS and won't be selling the 3DS XL.

I got mine for $300 about 16 months ago, but that came with a $100 Amazon credit (which didn't last long... I mean, this is Amazon). Technically for me this was a $200 purchase. By now the consoles should be down substantially in price. A $200 PS3 shouldn't be that far away, especially once the holiday season approaches (or even more likely Spring 2013). This whole cycle has been funny that way, previous consoles managed to drop in price a lot faster and deeper by now.

If nothing else, a solid BF deal must be impending, and I'm sure they will have nicer combo deals on the horizon post Turkey Day.
