i re-iterate, the MAX that those cards will pull is 160W each (unless you overclock them, but you won't be able to do much with 4 of them anyways), and they won't all be working at 100% since crossfire can't perfectly distribute the workload anyways that silverstone would be fine though (if it goes back in stock) |

There's no way can you get a quality 650W PSU for just $30, except during a freakishly rare sale, like the one TigerDirect ran last July for an OCZ ZS650W made by Sirfa (Enermax?), which tested out great at HardwareSecrets.com, even in a hot environment. That was the bargain of the year for PSUs, and I missed the sale by 5 minutes. I couldn't find a review of the 650W Apevia Java, but here are two other Apevia models that probably show the company's best and worst products, and keep in mind that the best, a 900W Apevia Warlock made by Wintech, shut down at just 800W, and apparently it was an 800W PSU but was relabeled as a 900W by Apevia: http://www.jonnyguru.c The worst quality, a 450W Apevia Turbolink, made by Solytech, broke down at just 240W: http://www.hardwaresec I don't know where the 650W Apevia Java falls between those two models, but notice it has no UL file number under the UL symbol, indicating fake certification. BTW some products have fake file numbers, so always verify the numbers at UL.com (or CSA.ca for CSA certified products). Those websites are among the very few that do legitimate PSU reviews, that is, they take DC amp measurements and try to load down the PSUs to their full ratings, rather than just take only voltage measurements and use a computer as the load. Some other good reviewers are HardOCP, SilentPCreview, and XbitLabs. You don't want to skimp on PSUs because quality varies more than for any other component, and when a bad PSU fails it may not simply shut down but may also damage your hardware, regardless of what kind of protection the PSU contains. OTOH I'm not saying you should pay a lot because I've never spent more than $20 on a PSU yet have never bought junk, except when it was free after rebate. But do get something that's rated highly by one of those review sites I mentioned, and keep in mind that many brands of PSUs are made by several different manufacturers, so don't assume that a Widget Corp. 750W Falcon123 is the same as a Widget Corp. 750W HawkXYZ. It seems solid as hell from the 80 PLUS certified and all. 165. Kinda decent? Idk. What do you think? Solid? Last edited by gonepostl; 08-17-2012 at 11:18 AM..
