I like how there's a heatsink instead of a fan on this, but is this better than the Gigabyte Radeon HD 6450 512MB that's on front page? I'm in need of a decent low-profile video card, and I already bought the Radeon one -- just wondering if I should return it for this.

Anyone know what kind of power usage this card has?

I have a 9600gt in my desktop, and all I use it for is watching TV shows and movies. I'd love a lower power card that doesn't have a fan. Is this a good choice?

It's been a few years since I have looked at components for computers, so I am not very up to date.

It has a TDP of 29w, its about 35% the muscle of your 9600gt, on the same level as Radeon HD6450, so its not for gaming but should be more then enough for your intended purpose, its designed solely for HTPC, one thing you may want to consider is that it takes 2 slots because of the heatsink.

If you are happy with the price and have to have a fanless card, I think its a good choice, a good fanless card is hard to come by on the cheap.

I am tempted by this as well because its fanless design but my HD4550 still works great in my HTPC with very little noise, I need a vacation away from SD.

Thanks for the reply! My current card actually takes two cards because of the heatsink on it, so that won't be a problem.

I actually down clocked my old card to the lowest speed, and had no issues, so the slower speed shouldn't be an issue. I just need it to be able to play back 1080p video smoothly.
