We stayed at Excalibur last year. Further south on the strip, but you can't beat $29/night rooms. Place was clean and within walking distance of the major south strip casinos. Grab a beer and walk the strip. By the time you're done with that beer, you're at Caesars. We used the hotel to shower and sleep (8 hours over 3 nights). Unless you plan to spend a lot of time in the room or are doing something in that particular hotel that would be beneficial by staying there, save your money on the hotel.

I believe location is very Key. I high suggest Monte Carlo if you want a decent cheap hotel. Good location on the strip. They have a decent free day pool for hotel guests. Quick taxi ride to Marquee and XS. Btw XS > Marquee if you have to go to pick one night club.

Visit your local costco. They usually sell Vegas.com gift cards the rate of 80$ for a $100 giftcard.

If you expect to spend 200$+ get two cards @ 160$. You are saving 20% at this point. In addition to this, if you find any deals for hotels shows etc through vegas.com, you would be saving additional money.

Compare some prices for hotels. If different websites offer the same price, then use the vegas.com/costco giftcard method

definately check out smartervegas and earlyvegas for deals. If you guys plan to do some gambling at your hotel, try to book your room directly through them and not a third party. This way, you can get your room comped.

I appreciate it and Camelot looks cheap and decently placed. We'll be doing a lot of table games, is there a good players card at a certain casino we should go to?

Try www.mycheapvegas.com and I'm not sure what your budget is, but if you're looking for bang for your buck, try the Flamingo. It'll end up cheaper because there's no resort fees the MGM properties have, and it's the best location by far.

Also, i highly suggest you rent a car, there's free parking everywhere, and you'll save a lot of taxi monies.

For airfare, I'd check out the discount airlines like southwest and jetblue for their seat sales. Always check if it's going to be cheaper booking your vacation as a package, or separately using promo codes for the hotels.

travelzoo.com does a nice job of rounding up deals from many sites. and i'd second what someone else said about southwest - priced cheaper than most others, free bags, and no fee to reschedule incase something comes up

what about rewards programs at casinos? are there any really good ones?
