1) when we checked in the service was awesome (they were on top of it) 2) rooms were recently upgraded, not too shabby 3) the pool was crackin! 4) the location is prime! Mid-strip! Like every casino, it's always possible to talk your way to a nicer bigger room or a better location room. They gave us a wonderful strip view with no hassle. I didn't even have to bother trying the $20 trick. In addition, it never hurts to be a Total Rewards member (their players card). There's an express check in line for the TR members. Don't forget that value and location outweigh paying for a posh and lavish room for most guy trips to vegas since you'll be spending little time in your room. I'm in the same boat as the poster. My GF and I are driving a car down for my sister. Is there any things to sign-up for, either before or while there? Also any promotions that anyone knows about, like free credit for signing-up for a player card at a certain place? Thanks, we are in debt collage kids so won't be doing any shows, but I'm going to bring all my change to the bank and get some gambling money : )

We went to Vegas in March and we're planning another trip for the first week of October, so I've been searching for deals too.
I ditto the Costco Vegas.com cards, but if you are planning to buy show tickets or book reservations through them, make sure you sign up on their Facebook page [facebook.com] to get a $50 off $250 code. Combined with the savings of the Costco cards, it knocks off quite a bit! I bought show tickets through them for the March trip. Depending on what you want to do when you're there, you might want to check out LasVegasAdvisor.com [lasvegasadvisor.com]. I bought their coupon book at the beginning of the year and it paid for itself on our first trip. Depending on how much time you spend on the computer, you might want to try the myVegas Facebook game [myvegas.com]. You play virtual slots and earn loyalty points that can be redeemed for real-world stuff like show tickets, food and rooms. Warning though, it takes quite a while to build up points, so keep that in mind. I work on the computer all day, so I just let it play in the background. Also, it's through MLife, which brings me to... MLife! I signed up on my last trip at the Monte Carlo. I gambled some, but not excessively on my 5 day trip and they've been sending me great offers ever since. My upcoming trip was booked on an offer of 3 free nights in a suite at the Monte Carlo. There's still a resort fee, but I can't complain about that. I just can't find a good deal on airfare..... Sorry, still working on that myself! Have fun!! |

I booked Tropicana for $119 for Thanksgiving Weekend. Nov22-to 25. 3nights It is a good deal for weekend.
I am not sure if it is available for the dates you want. I know they remodelled and the new rooms are nice. Tropicana is on the strip, in front of MGM towards the end of the strip. They also have resort fee, but I hope to get it waved. Good luck. http://www.troplv.com/rooms/speci...0MjA5OTIS1 |

Not sure if I can add anything of substance or help anyone but here is my two cents....I'm in Vegas from 25AUG-30AUG. The first night is a Sat night & I don't get in till midnight (technically, shortly before midnight on Sun) so i opted to stay off-strip at the Palms because it was $85. As for the other nights, I'm at Cosmopolitan because I took advantage of the Marriot lowest rate guaranty program where they beat the lowest price on the web by 25%....so I went from their advertised rate of $130/night to $89/night. I couldn't beat the price vs location. Now....if I weren't doing this deal - and I like to stay at a different property every time I visit - I would definitely do Mirage again. For the price vs location, it can not be beat, IMHO. I've been going at least twice a year for the last 10 years. I have a Costco a few miles away & I use them for the gift cards as well. If you are a club person, definitely do the VCARD. It gives you VIP passes into 50 or so properties
http://www.vcardlasvegas.com/venue_list.html They are usually $99.99 a package but I got them on Groupon a few months ago for half that. If ever there were a time to call your representatives in the government, it is now!

If you play slots this is a pretty sweet deal at Cosmo. I did it when we went in June. It's pretty much $100 match play (if you lose your first out of pocket $100 in the same day.) Sadly I did lose my $100 and the $100 they gave, although it did last me quite a while.

I'm also going to Vegas checking in 10/5 and checking out 10/8. After checking hotwire, priceline, hotels.com, I think aside from the costco/vegas.com deal the best prices I have seen for hotels is via LasVegasAdvisor.com you just have to play with the different hotels and promos. I currently have a room at Paris for $620 total and a tower room at Luxor for $430 total on reserve but I am hoping I can find a better deal in the next month or so. I am going to try the $20 trick and try to get an upgraded room at whatever hotel but if I don't get a complimentary upgrade with this being my first time, is the extra money worth a better view?? and is the price diff between Luxor and Paris worth it??
