The Democrats in Rhode Island seem to like voter I.D.
I wonder how many people who are for a national I.D. card are for or against voter I.D. Isn't Obama against voter I.D. but for national I.D. card? Joe Biden says Buy a Shotgun! Wackiness ensues! [youtu.be]

The poor need their ID for welfare but they don't need it to vote ![]() And no, I don't buy the argument that poor (and/or) older people are too stupid or confused to get an ID. |

So I just googled "do you need an ID to register to vote" and the first result was a MA gov website that states:
All growth depends upon activity. There is no development physically or intellectually without effort, and effort means work. — Calvin Coolidge
"Under Barack Obama, the only 'change' is that 'hope' is hard to find" - Marco Rubio |

![]() And of course old people have IDs!!! How else can they get away with pissing us off by writing checks at the grocery store??? ![]()

I suppose my question is that really can't be that poor b/c without ID you're not going to be on any state or federal assistance programs. You're obviously not going be able to drive b/c they don't have a license. You're not going to be anyone on a rental lease and you're not going to be anyone a home loan (unless it was done a long time ago, and your license never renewed). So that ever bloated 750k number of unregistered voters includes 18yr olds who may not have a license. But school ID will suffice. Now here's something people have to recognize that are not from PA. Pa runs the selling of liquor in this state. State run by state employees. So when you go to purchase liquor and they refuse to sell because of the lack of ID.. is that actually some discrimination vs the poor, racism etc..? bitter Pennsylvanian clinging to my guns and religion.. Obama called it out in 08.

Then, if you want to vote, you need to get a state ID card, but you have to go find a birth certificate first. If you do that, you next need to go to Social Security if you're female and your name doesn't match your birth certificate. Who has time for that, just to vote? |

Here's the problem with the new totally awesome voter ID laws, it completely ignores that the easiest way to commit voter fraud is through absentee ballots. http://www.longdistancevoter.org/...nglish.pdf If you look at it and you've already voted before, you don't ever need to show ID. What's used to combat voter fraud here? There isn't any. If there's "such a need" (which there isn't) to stop this magical voter fraud that occurs, but can't be proven in Pennsylvania, then why not stop this obvious one? It's simple. It's because this is to stop and discourage people from voting in the first place. People like Viviette Applewhite. The lady has voted many times in her lifetime and never had to show ID to vote. She now won't be able to vote. So we have at least 1 person who will be disenfranchised from voting in comparison to the 0 cases in Pennsylvania of in-person voter fraud.
As for liquor and cigarettes, etc, I highly doubt someone who's 65+ will ever get carded. |

So an elderly person who had ID when they were young but no longer has one nor can easily get one would be greatly burdened by a voter ID requirement. A burden which would practically disenfranchise them withoug significant assistance by someone else. |

Its not even a close comparison, you could lose everything you own in a house fire and still apply for welfare THE SAME DAY. To get a voter ID would require lots and time and money to replace documents if you lost any of them. |
