Of course DC doesn't explicitly allow criminals and crazies to carry firearms. However, their position of banning firearms for everyone effectively carries that position seeing as criminals/crazies don't really care about laws while the law-abiding do.

Yeah, those laws that prohibit criminals from having guns that are rarely enforced, and when they are the sentence is relatively minimal, really make a difference.....

Tell you what. How about we make felon in possession of a firearm, or felon attempting to acquire a firearm, a crime with a mandatory 25 year sentence?

Sure, but I'd try to tackle the guy too if he were shooting at me at very short range and there were no way I could escape... You know, self defense kind of thing. Don't get me wrong--the guy did good--but the word "hero" gets so overused these days that we might as well just preemptively call all white Christians with no criminal records heroes.
