i dont know about office depot and i believe you dont really get that much like at staples.

for staples:
you can recycle and get credits for 10 per month, counting restarts on 1st day of each month. you can recycle unlimited cartridges. but only 10 are counted. they monitor transaction by your reward membership. no limit per time or per week, bring in a truck if you want. only first 10 counted toward your rewards.

they dont give you $2 store credit voucher like the old days anymore. they just sum up whatever you recycled on previous month, then they give you the total of reward online the coming month. you go there any print it out. usualyy it's good for 1 or 2 month from the issue day. 1 single certificate issued per month. you can use all the certs that you have at one time or anytime as long as they are not expired.

no you can't use it toward any gift cards.
