Ok, think will pick one up tomorrow for daughter dorm room. Anyone have a working link to the cheap (but well reviewed) non-OEM ink?

$15.95 with free shipping for two sets but they frequently have sales for $9.95 posted in this forum. Highly reviewed and recommended.

I wish it had the usb/SD card inputs and it'd would have been the dream machine!

I would sacrifice fax for duplex and sd inputs, sighs.

I love my J430! I picked it up after spotting a deal a few months ago to replace my overpriced HP ink eater.
This thing is great to use just for the cheap ink pricing, im still on the factory cartridges but I have quite a few high yields waiting to go in.
This thing has had no problem with 20lb paper, 24lb paper and 67lb cover stock.
The wireless works flawlessly (not something I can say about the HP J6450 we had), works with my iphone too.
This is the exact same printer as yours right? even though its j435? can you explain the iphone part of it...how do you make it work? easy to set up?

Are you talking about the $10 coupon for buying something over $50? If so that get's e-mailed to you a few days after you pick up your order. If all you ordered was the printer you might not qualify since it's not over $50 (not including sales tax)

I have this printer also no issues with it. Not even cheap, it's well made. WiFi in there is top notch configuration as it should be. The model up from this cost $89 bucks but that offers more of fancy case along with media cards inserts. I don't need that. I only paid $52 no tax and free shipping off Amazon Prime back in Feb 2012 but didn't get this unit until March 2012.

It's very quiet too.. You can use eprint app from Android Play store (free) to scan and print from and send the document or image to your friends via gmail or save it to the cloud accounts like box or dropbox. Works 100%.

Thanks and repped!

I just ordered for in store pick up. We are literally moving her to school today, so will pick up on the way there. I'll get her mailing address and order ink to be mailed to her and all set!

Tempted to order a second one for home. Have a Kodak which I like for the OEM cheap ink, but the wifi is spotty. And regularly you have to power the think down and back up for it to reset the wifi signal.

Isn't that just for pick up of movies, music and video games? Where's it say you get that back with a printer too?

Reviews suggest that the Canon guzzles ink. But ink is pretty cheap for both. Canon also does auto duplexing so if that's really important to you then you may want to go with that one. Canon also has memory card slot.

I went with the Brother because it fit my needs, plus I've had bad experiences with Canon scanners being inconsistant (It was probably just a Lemon I had, but it left a bad taste in my mouth). I also didn't want an ink eater, even if it is cheap.

Thanks OP!

Ok. I just ordered the Canon. I could probably still be swayed to cancel and switch to the Brother though. I could see using the auto-duplex of the Canon more than the faxing of the Brother.
