OP's link redirecting via www.jdoqocy.com ?

Anybody have this issue?

With some deals, when I click the OP's link (or deal), I see in the new browser window that the url is redirecting via a site called http://www.jdoqocy.com

It eventually times out cause that site I guess doesn't exist.

I've never noticed this before until today/recently.

Should I be concerned? Damn, I hope I don't have malware/spyware.

do you have some examples? can you link one or two threads?

I'm using Firefox. On the Frontpage, I right-click the following deal, and select "Open Link in New Tab":
Nuance Dragon Naturally Speaking Home 11 $10 After $40 Rebate + Free Shipping

I click the "New Egg" link, and a new window open.
The url shows something like, http://www.jdoqocy.com/click- ...

The new window eventually shows:
Server not found
Firefox can't find the server at www.jdoqocy.com.

That doesn't always happen. I can click the same New Egg link again and it will take me to the product page on the New Egg site.

Oh wait, AT&T has been having issues with their DNS today. Not sure if that might be why.

In any case, I was just concerned I might have gotten malware/spyware.

since yesterday anything redirecting doesn't work on my cell or at work, not sure whats going on with the redirecting nowadays.

I've been having the same issues with jdoqocy.com

On the PC:
Redirects work fine. Redirect is transparent and takes me to intended Newegg site.

On Android (mobile):
Neither mobile or desktop site links work. See attached images.

On the router:
DNS1: Comcast DNS (automatically forwarded) -- 75.75.75.75:53
DNS2: OpenDNS -- 208.67.222.222:53

**WiFi hotspots throw me the same error, as long as I'm using my mobile to visit the slickdeals thread.

**Note: This is not the first time the jdoqocy redirects do not work. I end up giving up on the deal since I can't see it on my mobile.

Are you using any sort of ad blocker on your phone?

The messages you posted indicate an inability to contact the domain, not anything to do with the encoding - this is usually caused by a mobile ad blocker that alters the phone's hosts file to prevent connection to domains it considers advertisers (and they tend to be a bit overly aggressive).

Other things that can cause this include DNS issues or faulty routers out in the internet, though those tend to affect more people...

e: Comcast's DNS doesn't give me a result for jdoqocy.com; do you have any custom DNS settings on your phone?

Tmo HTC Amaze 4g running SpeedRom 7.8 [custom Android Ice Cream Sandwich ROM]. Perhaps the ROM has built in ad-blockers. Will flash with original HTC Ice Cream Sandwich Rom to get a "stock phone" and see if i still get the same jdoqocy errors

There aren't any custom DNS settings on my phone, unless there are ones built-in from the ROM I'm using that I'm unaware of. If Comcast DNS doesn't give a result shouldn't OpenDNS work as a fallback for DNS2? I will try Stock HTC Ice Cream Sandwich tomorrow and report back my jdoqocy findings.
