Went to target to check out TV. I must say that I was a little disappointed with the picture quality. Not what I was expecting from Sony. I realize that this was a display and probably not calibrated, but the PQ was worse than most of the HDTV's surrounding it. I guess I'll stop chasing this deal down. Good luck to everyone else trying to score this deal.

went to the target in Ellicot City, MD ... still $699.
FWIW, it is listed as "Limited Availability" at this store, and when I scanned the barcode they had none in stock in the backroom. But I did see one in it's box out on the store shelf. The Columbia, MD Target, where it's still $699, shows it as "Available" on the tracker. So what I'm getting at is the Limited Availability vs Available doesn't really mean squat about it's price, other than having some in the backroom or not. At least from my experience. |

In Stock means they have them
L-A means there i only one left or they really don't have any. These sets are sold around $699 if you want more features then it's $799 to $899. Not cheap sets. On my two SONY 40" and 46" I never have to set the picture quality is good to go out of the box. When I ask for a tablet they shouldn't tell me to go into the pharmacy to get one!

Previous posts in this thread have indicated that Target's policy doesn't allow this, and I just got back from a store where the manager said the same (they had to receive it into inventory and it had to make its way all the way back to the storeroom before they'd put it back out/up for sale). I have a couple of stores within 20 or so miles of me, so if there's even HALF a chance that this is true, I'm willing to bite (worst thing that can happen is that I just return it outright and give up). (edit: Just to clarify, the manager's explanation was for the scenario of rebuying with a different form of payment - that is, double the warranty with my platinum card which I didn't have with me at the time - NOT for the clearance price. I'm careful about tipping off employees.) Last edited by danap611; 08-27-2012 at 12:19 PM.. Reason: Clarity |

The ($349 retail) 39" Westinghouse 1080p LCD/LED was $199 at our Target this morning. Note that there are TWO of them, with almost an identical box. One is last years model, one is the new model ($399). I *think* the DPCI for the $199 one ends in 0732, the $399 one in 0739.
