Deal Details

Saw several Sony BX45 46" TV on clearance for $349.99 from $699.98 at my local target. I didn't get any because I'm not in the market for one. Took pictures of it, it looks like the DPCI are 008091045 from the crappy picture. Good lucks.

I'm still cringing at the number of dumb asses who said they "called" in this thread.Frown They're gonna find a way to ruin the target clearance deals for everyone else.
"Hi. I saw on the web site Slickdeals that there was a Sony 46" tv on sale for $349.99. Could you tell me if that is true?"

Salesperson: "Yes, that is the price, but we just sold out. I'm sorry. Thanks so much for calling." Hangs up. "SCORE!!!!. laugh out loud"

So at least 2 targets in the area have this as $349 and are sold out. Others in the area have it full price, does that mean they are likely to droh their price next week?

Going to check my local store tonight. If the deal isn't going though, I saw that my local pawn shop has this very same TV just in the 40" variety, brand new for $300. And I imagine I could talk the owner down to $280. Is that a good deal, should I jump on it? How nice are these TV's? Will mostly be using it with my 360 and hooked up to my PC.

I use a 40" $ony for a PC monitor and I love it. It is the EX600.

Have used it with Xbox and it looks fantastic.

$275 to $300 would be a very nice deal.

Pickup the SONY 7.1 520 model goes good with these sets. TV turns off so does this system. TV turns on so does this system. Works together very good to excellent sound also!

I own BX40 and EX46 no issues.. This deal would be nice but I wasn't looking for another SONY. EX has 4x HDMI ports the BX only has 2x HDMI ports.

No go around Waco. This is really frustrating. The one store I went to just had the display item and none in the stock. I am giving up. I don't think come this Monday, the price is going to drop. Was really in need of a good tv.

Prices are good until they're gone so no more limit of 7 days with Target pricing.. Well it has to be marked that way. I did look around here, but someone did ask and found some in stock. You need to go a Target store most don't go too. That's how I found my EX46 last year. Just stood on the shelf for weeks brand new in the box. One day I just drove to the store and had purchased it. Never looked back. I was hoping to see one of the EX55 or higher come even lower from SONY.

For anyone who is unclear on 60hz vs 120hz, it does not and will not matter for the life of any TV you purchase now in regards to watching broadcast TV. The ONLY time it ever matters is when you are watching 24p output from a bluray player. The reason for this is because 24 frames do not divide evenly into 60hz (60 screen refreshes per second), so what happens is the signal is converted by 3:2 pulldown, which means frames are displayed AABBB so that every other frame is displayed 3 times, so you see every other frame for a fraction of a second longer, when it's all strung together it can look wonky especially in panning scenes. The point of 120hz is that 120/24=5 so now the TV can just show every frame 5 times and bam no more judder. the problem is a lot of TVs esp cheap ones dont actually do this, they employ frame interpolation to actually create frames that are not part of the original, then you get the acid in your eyes soap opera effect. If you buy 120hz you need to make sure it has 5:5 pulldown, but good luck finding ANYONE ANYWHERE that knows, the only people who are likely to know are whatever asian engineers designed the panel in question, and they likely dont even work for the company named on your TV.

That said, it can still be worth while to look at 120hz TVs just because they are usually the models that more work has been put into, they will have newer and better features and processing that are unrelated to the refresh rate, but not necessarily.

These funny guys dismissing a set outright just because LOL LESS HERTZ XD are knuckleheads who dont know anything about the underlying technology. If 100% authentic and perfect looking bluray is not important to you then there is absolutely no reason to exclude 60hz sets and if it IS that important to you then you should be looking at plasma with X:X pulldown.
