Depends on how much money you have or willing to spend. If you're on a tight budget get the 15-85, but if you have $800 to spend on the lens, def. get the 24-105. Build quality is superior, it's weather sealed, and have better quality glass, and i hold its value a lot better in case you want to sell it down the road

The 18-135 lens is pretty good walk around lens too if you're on a really tight budget.

can I ask why? Like I explained earlier, nothing is riding on it being US v imported; there is no warranty at stake. Canon can repair your grey market item the same as a US item, at the same cost, so again, nothing at stake.

Heck, it won't even affect your resale value.

Most likely no. If you never shoot landscapes or buildings and shoot pictures of mostly people, then it might be a better option. But, the loss of the 15mm-23mm range is pretty much your whole wide angle end, and what you gain (86mm to 105mm) isn't really that great.

A step or two forward makes up the difference between 85mm and 105mm; not so much for 15mm to 24mm.

While I agree on the build quality and glass, it being weather sealed doesn't make a difference on a non-weather sealed body. It's a great lens on crop if you also have something to cover the wider end of things, but, the trade-off is too big otherwise

Tried the 15-85mm for a while. It's not as sharp as you'd think... especially the corners.

Going to go for this... PM me if anyone wants my 15-85 for cheap.
