$200 statement credit after 1st use: NFL Extra Points Visa card

Per the fine print, 20,000 points can be redeemed as a "Statement Credit".
That is:
1) Charge $200 worth of purchases on the card (Each purchase has to be $25 or more)
2) Get credited 20,000 points after first purchase
3) Redeem points to make above purchase(s) free.

1.) Make an initial purchase of any amount to receive your 20,000 points.
2.) Charge your card with a transaction that amounts to $25 or more on your card (could be this or your previous initial purchase)
3.) Redeem all points as a $200 statement credit on the transaction that was more than $25

2) charge your card with transactions that total up to $202
3) Because you charged $202, which factors in getting 1% bonus points you can now redeem every last drop of points for statement credit, it doesnt matter if transactions are under $25 as long as you have points to cover the transaction.

Chase Freedom also makes you go through a similar shenanigan when redeeming reward points.



You do NOT need to redeem in $25 increments if you do it right. If your points are not enough to cover a charge, then it is true that you have to do "Partial Credit" and would be restricted to increments. Well, just make sure your charge can be completely covered by your points so you can do "Full Credit"!

After getting your bonus points, don't use the card anymore. During the previous offer many people received a 20,000 additional bonus email if they started using their card again. It seems people who continued using the card, even a little, did not get this bonus email.


After you got approved you might want to log into your account, go to Alerts/Profile -> Profile -> Manage Your Privacy Options, and turn off various options that allow them to contact you "from time to time about products or services offered by Barclays affiliates or 3rd parties" via phone, email, and mail, unless you don't mind that they start calling you regarding some new product or offer from some random merchant.

If your point total runs below 2500, you cannot use those points towards transaction credits at ALL, even if the purchase was >$25. Budget your purchases so you don't leave points on the table.
