MCM Electronics has Raspberry Pi units in stock . Like the wait-lists with the rest of the companies selling these, they will go OOS quick.

I called to order (which, I found out you have to place all Pi orders online for some reason) and they said they have a limited number now, but they also have a ton more due in within a couple of weeks. woot They also have more cases and accessories coming.

Model B unit by itself is $35. Bundles with PSU, SD card, and case starting at $59.99.

For anyone unaware of what the Raspberry Pi is... it's basically a simple Linux computer designed to get people back into learning to program--but there's so many ready-to-go programs, Linux knowledge isn't really required. Probably the most popular use of these is as a HTPC. It is powered from a 5V micro USB. And yes, it has HDMI. laugh out loud

BACK IN STOCK

FYI: "MCM is required to collect sales tax in OH, CA, IN, NV and MN only."

An easy way to check availability across major distributors (http://www.findchips.com/avail?part=RASPBRRY)

I bought one yesterday and used the following codes for free shipping and 10% off. The free shipping coupon didn't work with the board alone - I had to buy the kit with charger, case, and a blank sd card:
Came out to $53.99 for me with tax and shipping.

By SD card do you mean it will have SD card reader or theres just something preinstalled on that card, like linux OS?

The SD card is the hard drive of the unit... it has a reader, but you can buy cards with the OS preinstalled (or just download it for free from Raspberry Pi website and install on your own card). The GUI works great... your typical windows-knock-off Linux.

These are amazing little guys. I wish they'd release the model A, but I'm glad I got my B's for now.

They are really easy to use, if you know the basics about it

$10.49 for shipping. Tax is TBD. The shipping cost alone kills it for me.

If you're not willing to pay $10 for shipping you weren't going to buy one anyway. If you have a use for one of these, there's nothing that come close to it price-wise.

One thing I should note, the waiting list dropped from months to weeks last week. When I ordered mine they said 2 week wait, I got it in 4 days. I think the production is finally up to par and the waiting lists will start disappearing.

I really wonder how it fits in this circular case they are selling as part of the bundle. I can't find any additional pictures and it doesn't look like the sell the case separately. Cases are almost harder to find than the Pi itself!
