Haha, touche. Well, there will likely be some more deals as it gets closer to schooltime. Go start researching, and let us know what you'd like from the computer. For example, do you already have a screen or do you need one included in the price? Can you buy online or do you want to do it in store? Do you have any kind of budget, or can I recommend you $800+ towers? How much is your giftcard for (If it's less than $200, perhaps buy the desktop wherever you feel like, and then buy a good graphics card from Best Buy)? Are you willing to install anything yourself? Because you can do really well if you buy the desktop, and then upgrade it with an awesome graphics card. Overall, Starcraft 2 is more CPU-intensive than GPU-intensive, so you want to get the best processor for the money that you can.

I saw some pretty decent ones right around now, looking for stand alone tower, I have all the other stuff laying around, but was thinking i5 at min, and gpu i'm open but at least 1g, probably 6g ram +, i'm just lost on all the other stuff, i'm not really a computer person so DIY is out. I'd like to stay under a grand and it looks like it's doable but just wondering if i'm over killing, underkilling, that type of deal.

For gaming I'd look at 2nd or 3rd generation intel i5 CPU, 8GB of RAM and the best video card you can afford. Though it's really easy to add RAM or swap out a video card. Only problem with upgrading video on pre-built systems is they usually use PSUs that are just enough to run the system as is and a new card might require more power.
