PenFed credit card turned down...

The PenFed card is difficult to get with a thin credit history. Do you have any other credit cards? If so, build up another year of history with low utilization ratios and apply for the PenFed card again. If you don't have another card, you'll have to start lower on the totem pole before you can get a card like PenFed's

Is this card easy to apply? (I applied for the "PenFed Platinum Rewards Card" and got denied)

I recently applied and was approved for the Penfed Visa (with the $250 bonus) but despite a credit history of over 20 years and high credit scores Penfed gave me a paltry credit line of $2,000. When I called about it the CSR said I could request reconsideration in a year. No big deal since I didn't intend to make large purchases anyway, but I like to have high credit lines for their effect on my credit scores.

So yes, Penfed are a conservative lot.

Yup they denied me a year or two back I think too many cards. Never had a problem anywhere else. They are tough.
