For the safe shutdown on the PowerPanel software, how does it know when it is on battery power? A separate USB connection or through the plug itself?

 I will have some happy friends and clients when they get these baby's. $52.17 each shipped. I have mine sitting behind me not installed for the past 3 months. Thought I stole it for $120.(newegg business sale) 700 Total SSD's handled between two jobs. Plextor M3s, M5s, Crucial M4s, Intel 320s, and Samsung 470/830s are reliable. 2 M4 failure among ~200 of them. Sandforce Sata II controlled drives, 6 RMAs among ~175 units. There, now you know why I post like I do, professional, personal experience.

Note that this model doesn't provide power as a pure sign wave. Many of the highly efficient power supplies require this feature (known as active pfc). Older power supplies should use this just fine.

Great find! In for 1, we have power flickering issues in our new home during storms -- needed another UPS for the TV/cable box downstairs. Almost bought one with half the wattage for more $$ the other day.
