This thread probably belongs in Off-topic / discussion considering what it is no doubt going to devolve into...
That being said, don't downvote for poor product... someone might want to try out Win8 and this is a free way to get it. (It is free... isn't it?)
Regardless of what you think, (and for my opinion see my post on Page 2) let others try it out and decide for themselves.
ALSO: Before you get too excited, be aware that you'll need to do a clean install of the OS once the evaluation period expires. Unfortunately, you won't just be able to plug in a license key to fully activate it when the full version is released on 10/26/12.

Here's how to get the Start Menu back and also go directly to the desktop on boot

since op posted here anyway. i have windows 7 (oem licensed) right now. can i shrink the volume, create a new partition, install windows 8 RTM to make it windows 7/8 dual boot, and then after release pay $40 to upgrade to release version windows 8?
or i have to install windows 8 rtm on top of my windows 7 in order to "have an underlying license for either Windows XP, Windows Vista or Windows 7"? |

The download says this is for Windows 8 Enterprise. Does this download allow us to install the edition we are going to purchase? Such as Windows 8 Pro or regular Windows 8?

Also, just so everyone knows, the 90 day trial will expire after that time. It cannot be made into a real Win8 instal. |
