Cedar Grilling Planks
I've been looking for months now on a deal for cedar grilling planks. Woot had a deal over a year ago and most recently I think 1deal1day or 1saleaday had a deal, which I missed out on because I found out about it minutes after midnight and the deal ended, lol.If anyone finds a cedar planks deal LMK

You can find a smoking deal on cedar planks everyday at your local lumber store. Just look for 3/4" - 1" thick, furniture-grade (untreated and kiln-dried) cedar boards and have them cut down into planks. You'll save tons of money going this route.

I hit up Home Depot and found this, it's kiln dried and I don't see anything about it being pressure treated.
Is this SAFE? http://www.homedepot.com/Lumber-C...DGEPaPseX8 Thanks Brian, U rock! Never thought of having a lumber yard cutting a board down for me. |

I don't see anything indicating that they're treated in any way. I'd confirm this in the store then have them cut a board down (or do it myself in the "cut your own wood" area) into plank size pieces before I left. |

Take a look in your yellow pages and find roofing supply yard.
Look for cedar shingles and shakes. Give em a call and ask if they have any open bundles. It's what you want. http://www.easttennesseebuildings...ar-shakes/ |

Here is the recipe that I use. Simple and always a hit.
soak cedar planks(s) for an hour or two. Cut salmon piece about the size of the plank (SKINLESS) Rinse, pat dry and salt and pepper salmon Put salmon on plank skin side down smear (with hands) honey mustard over entire salmon Sprinkle about a half a cup or so of brown sugar over salmon put on grill with indirect heat (turn on outer burners and put salmon in the middle) (or oven at 400) Cook for about 23-25 minutes or 135 degrees with an instant read thermometer E finita la cuccagna
