A few days ago, there was a Cisco DOCSIS 3.0 modem deal posted here, so I bought one. Logged in to my Comcast account and found that I have Blast!

Wohoooo....

Own the modem. What would anyone rent when you can get DOCSIS 2.0 on craigslist for cheap 25+ dollars.

Its digital starter for me dude. They offered me Digital Limited in the beginning and I asked for Digital Starter. So they did it for me

Also, I never heard of Digital Economy neither its in their pamphlets . I know the starting point is Digital Limited.

never looked online. Its in the pamphlet which I got from Comcast at the time on registration (as a new user). Sales guy was nice and he upgraded my account.

If someone wants to do the same thing, best way is to chat and ask for free upgrades, else ask for 3 months free premium channels. I am sure at least 3 months free premium is something anyone can get in 15 minutes via chat.

I've been on their Limited Basic + Blast for the past 3 years which I got for $29.95/month, but the price has gone up about $10/year since. This month it hit the $60 mark which is their regular price. Tried to chat yesterday for the $29.99/Month for 6 months and was told to call their 800 number, called their retention department yesterday and they lowered to $45/month w/o terms or contract. Since there's nothing better on my area except crappie AT&T DSL I think it's a good deal even though I don't use their useless Limited Basic service.

why not take the service on some other name ? any other person living with you ? if no credit/ssn, then just $50 refundable deposit.

I personally have found that in the Seattle area Comcast won't give up anything for existing customers. So I gave THEM up.

Were there any other deals being offered in the stores? Any internet only packages? Or better cable internet combo?

Do you have the name of the rep at the sunnyvale store? $39.99 for blast + digital starter for 9 months sounds like a great deal.

Dont remember the name. it was counter number 5. August 17th around 4:30pm.

He was an american, small hairs (size ~5), slim person. should be in 24-28 years range. Looks like a college guys, something like that. He was smart and make sure to get all the details before saying yes or giving your SSN.

Also free 3 months HBO.

I also called Comcast today to order this...the best they could offer me was 39.99 for 6 months and then 59.99 for months 7-12. I live in the SF Bay Area.

I asked if the deal was still available after 10 minutes of him offering me $75-80 packages.
