lenovo z580 wireless issues
I am not the only user of this device, however i noticed wireless issues (yellow triangle with the ! over the wifi bars) (no internet access)recently (4mo ago) upgraded to att uverse and using 2Wire 3600HGV. No issues so far. Internet works fine on hardwire for 3x machines. Wifi is working on android hp touchpads/this laptop till today. Only this Lenovo z580 <1mo old is having issues/first signs laptop uses Intel® Centrino® Wireless-N 2200 getting a few different potential detects ran trouble shoot *detecting problems *Looking for problems in Web connectivity... results-"Your broadband modem is experiencing connectivity issues" acting-restart modem;same issue decided to restart laptop and still issue. ran intel manual diagnostic tool hardware-pass driver-pass radio-pass scan test-pass association test-pass authentication test-pass signal test-pass ping test-FAIL "Failure getting ping status!" tried ipconfig/release ipconfig/renew ipconfig /flushdns chrome gives me your typical can not reach due to dns. i will try to type in the 2wire ip address (192.168.1.254) on the laptop and it will not connect. gives me an error saying it has taken too long to respond. tried to hardwire connect to the internet and still no go readout for ipconfig dns suffix- gateway.2wire.net ipv6-xxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxx ipv4-192.168.1.xx subnet-255.255.255 gateway-192.168.1.254 please help. I just happened to be testing all the well known free anti virus programs this past weekend, installing and removing them one at a time.
McAfee was the only one that I couldn't clean up 100%. As you can see from the attached pix, two McAfee services remain and one of them is greyed out in the automatic position. Naturally, I prepared a restore point and even a system image t go back to after my experiments, so it's not a biggy, The only reason anyone would use McAfee is because they don't know any better. There's no way that a computer knowledgeable person would use their anti virus. |

Free is free after all but like you said, they don't know any better.
