This is about $150-200 cheaper than the standard kit price, if you sell the printer and card (which is somewhat difficult to do, in a saturated market).

So, yes, I would say there will be better deals around the holidays, especially if you don't like to have to deal with the hassle of selling the other items.

If you want this kit now, then it's a good deal.

If all you want is the camera with lens, the only meaningful "flipable" item is the printer, maybe for $150 on eBay - netting about $95 after fees and shipping. You might net $15 on the SD card. The other items would cost you more in fees and shipping than you can get for them. That is a fair bit of hassle and risk to get this for a net after MIR of approximately $1000 ($1015 if you keep the SD card) net out of pocket plus some items you may then give away, whatever value you place on that.

Every individual has their own assessment of value for their time and risk tolerance.

Personally I think there is less hassle/risk to get to under the $1099 price for the camera w lens combo by purchasing at one of the "better" vendors offering that w/o a bundle for under $1100 - here [google.com]. And choose a cheaper Class 10 SD card - here for $20-25 [google.com], if you need it.

Yep, you may have to put up with a stupid high pressure sales call from some of them, but you can always say "no" (right?) to them and have some recourse with your credit card company - where are you if your $400 rebate doesn't go through for whatever reason?

You certainly would do better cash out of pocket from buying from eBay from the flippers themselves, but you may then forgo warranty.

Don't know what a Square Trade warranty purchase would be (they allow you to specify eBay item id to give you a quote [squaretrade.com]), but might be net cheapest overall.

One thing that sucks is that the free 13x19 paper is not included
That is worth atleast 50 bucks when sold with the printer. Good paper for people who want to use those printers. It came with the other deal.

So true, seems like a bundle every couple of hours on the canon dslr's nowadays.
Selling on CL can be a hassle, and don't get be started on ebay (you never know what kind of buyer you'll get)

Well, if you just want the body (I want the 24-105 L lens, myself), you can pair it with the printer and still be eligible for the rebate. That way you get the body for $50 less than most places and get a free printer and paper (which is ~$90 on it's own). Not bad if you actually want the printer, or if you can sell/gift it. But I think most people find photographic printing a big hassle with calibration and testing.

Right...I have a big format HP and you have to baby sit that damn thing....ink is astronomical too, with certain colors running out quickly. Great photos, but with cost of consumables, probably better off finding a higher end quality photo print service and save money overall (and space).

Ha! I hear ya...w CL first hurdle is keeping your postings up and not ghosted by some schmuck or the CL robot - that alone is a deterrent to using it. Amazon is almost worse than eBay for problem buyers, and you have zero insight into who they are / their history.
