Good for you for eating a healthy diet. Not sure what you mean by loss of potency in recent fruits/vegetables. Are they removing the fiber content or draining it of vitamins now? As it relates to vitamins they aren't as harmless as one might think. Here is an interesting tidbit from CR [consumerreports.org]: "They found that regular users of calcium supplements had an 86 percent increased heart-attack risk compared with those who didn’t use supplements, as reported in the June 2012 issue of the Journal Heart. "

Ofcourse there are older studies that would trumpet the benefits of calcium for good reason esp if you see the benefits it has in post menopausal women and their higher risk for osteoporosis. So what is an average consumer to do? Discuss with your doctor your eating habits and exercise frequency and if you are truly in need of a vitamin (they can do a test for this), let them guide you. Make sure to tell them about the healthy balanced diet. I suspect most don't hear that from pt's frequently and would be pleased to know.

I would honestly attribute you feeling better and the weight loss almost entirely to your change in diet. Since you voiced your opinion so loud and boldly I will say that they did nothing in comparison to any similar product on the market and that a friend who works at GNC doesn't even recommend them himself. Many things you said such as how much caffeine are just repeating what others have said I'm assuming and other such as your weight loss can't be used to prove it since you also altered your diet (which is a much more proven method of weight loss than pills).

I DO NOT RECOMMEND THE ENERGY & METABOLISM BLEND FOR ANYONE.

Another vote in FAVOR of the Energy & Metabolism pills. I took them for a few weeks a little while ago and definitely noticed a difference. They helped in muscle recovery for the gym in conjunction with other stuff I'm taking, and I did notice a difference overall when I ran out. I restarted a multi with the Sport variety from GNC, but it doesn't seem quite the same to me (lower caffeine, I believe). I'll take either, but I'm re-ordering the E&M with this deal.

As for the other naysayers about multis, I do eat a balanced diet, but with a hardcore workout schedule (60-90 min of lifting about 5-6x/week), the extra nutrients are necessary, for me anyway. If I don't supplement with these and other things (whey, creatine, etc.), I DEFINITELY notice a difference in recovery, workout capacity, and overall energy levels. Maybe multis aren't necessary for everyone, but it's up to the individual to figure that out as opposed to blanket statements that multis are useless for everyone. The same goes for other supplements -- there are benefits depending on the person, the fitness level, workout schedule/intensity, etc.

Now, to the original intent of this board, thanks for the post, OP. TU and repped -- been waiting for a multi deal for a couple weeks to stock up for my deployment.
