well Iam getting about $500 from Amazon, If listing on eBay and getting Paypal, I would want atleast $550 and say its a flat 12% fees, that would mean over $625 is what I need to sell it for.

Figure out a way to get it factory unlocked to bump up that resale value. That's exactly what I did with my 2 extra iPhones. Now cleaning them up to dump them before the prices drop.

At that time, there were already debates on how well this trade in was handled. Even the op of that post stated then "Ive been paid the like new price several times", in defense of Amazon. Apparently that statment did not apply to his recent iPhone trade in .

Therefore I just want to hear some positive experiences specific to like new iPhone trade-in, because I have heard a few negative ones.

Gazelle is fine. I sent in my iPhone 3GS listed as 'perfect' with no problems whatsoever. Also, they tell you to restore the phone in iTunes which wipes all your personal data off the phone, which should be common sense anyway.

They are really not fair in their assessment: Flawless Iphone 3gs is $80. You can sell it for $150 on ebay anytime.
Ive dealt with them in hundreds of instances, buying from them, and sometimes I have found credit cards in the carry cases of pdas and even social security numbers in the units themselves.

Off topic but I have a 32gb Iphone 4 that i recently upgraded to the Samsung Note so it is now out of contract. Do I have to contact AT&T and have them "unlock" it for me or something? And then I can sell it on ebay? Thanks for any help, never sold a cell phone before, but I know my Iphone is probably worth some decent money.

Call AT&T and ask for Tech Support. Tell them you want to unlock your iPhone, give them the IMEI number (under Settings - General - About). In 1-2 days they will email you instructions for unlocking your iPhone.

Basically, they ask you to connect your iPhone to your computer, launch iTunes, BackUp and Restore. When you are done, you will see a message in iTunes that says 'Your iPhone is unlocked'.

I have unlocked two iPhones this way.

Don't even bother calling. Just do the webchat. Then you can unlock it while you browse slickdeals.
