If you're talking about the Philips Sonicares, I've used both, and they're actually quite different. The Oral-B brushes have rotating bristles, and you can get brushes ranging from hard to soft. The Philips Sonicare system uses rapid vibrations without any rotation. They both work well, but I think the Oral-B system may clean a bit faster and more thoroughly. Oral-B is not good for someone with receding gums because they may exacerbate that condition.

Target.com had the 5000 on sale for $75 a few days ago. I posted it here and got thumbs down. Would anybody here know why? I purchased it too.

Last year I bought 2 Oral B toothbrushes. I filled out 2 rebate forms. But then after a couple of months or so I only recieved one rebate. I called for them to investigate then they said that the rebate was only good for 1 customer per mailing address. Their records stated that I already received one per that time period's promo. Sucks really, didn't read the fine print. I was wondering whatever happened to my other rebate because they never called or sent mail to inform you of the status. You have to call in.
