these play streaming 1080p from Windows Media Center just fine. I have one in my bedroom and it works great

Anyone have any opinions on how well these would run plex?

Is that so? I tried one before and for me it could not handle it. Mind telling me what codecs you are using and if you had to OC it?

This model says 800mhz DDR3 RAM where the other says 1066mhz DDR3. I may be wrong but in my experience 800mhz is typically DDR2, not DDR3...so I'm guessing this is actually a DDR2 machine...maybe??
DDR3 would to me be preferred over DDR2 since its both cheaper and faster plus commonly available in 8GB too...and I also read where some users ran 8GB successfully even thou the specs say 4GB....under Win 64 bit.
Any opinions on this?

I like both of these... just unsure about the RAM differences for the $20 price difference...

He is referring to the fact that "1600MHz" RAM is actually 800MHz. You can go google "DDR RAM" if you want to get more detailed than that.
