You might want to audition some other user agent changer plugins. I can't remember which one I set him up with in the end, but I had a similar experience with the first couple I tried. Still, the best solution is to use Chrome when tethering.

Are there any very cheap voice plans that you can add this to?

I've definitely found that too, and the science bears it out. T-Mobile's higher frequency 3G/4G 1700/2100 AWS has lower penetration through walls, just like the 5ghz frequency does on home routers.

Well they finesse the language a little better than I did. It's "unlimited," w/ 5GB of high speed 4G. When he signed up for it there was no defined limit on the high-speed service, but I imagine if he had used it enough he would have discovered the unthrottled limitation.

That was my problem with them. They got no coverage here at work because I work in a big 4 story old building. Most the building had no coverage but my little section of it had coverage. Problem is when I'm out and about trying to fix something and need to make a call it just didn't work. Thats the only reason I'm not considering this atm.

That and the fact that I just went back to Sprint last week and haven't even fully ported over my numbers yet.

Sucks bein a phone junkie...Always lookin for something new.

At least when T-Mo says unlimited they mean it. They define what is fast speeds very clearly while other companies won't do such things. Some companies will even cut you off completely if you go over. How do you go over unlimited? /sigh

T-Mobile simply throttles you, which in most cases is still faster then Sprint's 3G network. So its not completely unusable.

tmobile is utter crap when you leave the city. i had a trip last month to the poconos from nyc (its only one hour away) and due to accident i wanted to take detour with friends in the other cars, no way in hell could i get through to them and most of them are on tmobile, sprint and AT&T 3G. the only one that worked was AT&T LTE. i'm on verizon LTE.

Do they throttle you after 3GB as I've been hearing AT&T does to their unlimited? If not I would prob keep that plan for the unl LTE.

Also, if you travel I can see coverage being a problem.

Ive gone over 3gb a few months and never been throttled, but I heard LTE gets throttled at 5gb

I went on road trip to Colorado, Utah, Arizona, and Wyoming and had almost no service anywhere with ATT
