note that you are paying a lot for the GPS feature, which not all ppl need, detection HW is the same as their cheaper models
also blue led is not as good as red if you drive in the dark
using a RX65 myself, never failed me
I agree that the red display is much easier to see. I had an original 8500 (not x50) with the red display, when it broke after much use and abuse, I replaced it with the 9500ix. The blue display looks cooler IMO, but the red display is so much easier to see both during the day and night. Also, consider where you are driving before purchasing this. I drive a lot around Northern NJ and NYC so the GPS with red light cameras is really useful. I also take a few trips to the Michigan every year and I would actually prefer a redline for those journeys.
I just used this while driving to D.C. and back from Houston. Surprisingly not that many cops during the week, but honestly not worth the money. I was borderline disappointed when I got my warning in the middle of going down hill, while my buddy with his V1 got his before the top of the hill. I even had the GPS off because some say it boosts the sensitivity. The ramp up on this thing is horrible. I am not saying people should buy V1, but just don't get this expecting awesome performance. On the long straights in Louisiana it picked up cops from over a mile away.
