Anyone who has bought civ4 should download the BUG mod (BTS unaltered gameplay). It doesn't change the mechanics of gameplay; rather, it adds a layer of information that is so useful for a new player and even veteran players. You can get information on one screen instead of having to click through the different advisors.

I've never played V, but the last time IV and V were on sale I grabbed IV. The system requirements are much lower, so I can play it on very respectable settings on my laptop with integrated graphics. Plus, back then (this was just before Christmas) I read that the mods are much better for IV.
I've had plenty to keep me busy with the main game, but I've also tinkered with the Fall From Heaven II dark fantasy mod. I've heard great things about the second most popular mod, Rhye's and Fall of Civilization, a version of which is actually included with Beyond the Sword expansion. http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Rhye...vilization |

I bought civ5 right when it was released for full price. I don't think I played it much. I recently started playing again and it doesn't seem quite as fun as the civ's from years ago. Is it just me or does the game seem to move at a much slower pace? Also why does population make everyone so unhappy? Are there any mods to fix these issues? Or do the expansions help?

In for one
I decided on IV: The Complete Edition.I wanted to purchase additional games as gifts using the steam option (giving the product key physically, in a card or something.) Is that against the rules? I do see it says that gifting is not available, though I assume that's just an option that amazon sometimes offers. Any info is appreciated! |
