Good deal
I was not able to find it at nearby Frys or Sears, but I was able to get a price match at Best Buy. Would have liked to get the Sears 10% discount, but it's still a good deal at $677 and I also got a bunch of Best Buy reward points. Thanks for sharing this.As for the quality of the TV itself, it's very nice. Set up was easy and I had no problem streaming a 3D movie over WiFi from XBMC upnp server. As far as I can tell, it's just as good as those $1500 Samsung and Sony 3D TVs. |

I just got mine today from Amazon after a price match.
The 120Hz is a LIE. This TV is a 60Hz panel. They use some algorithm to achieve a constructive "120 Hz," but there is jutter and blurring in the picture. I have TruMotion and Real Cinema turn on (and toggled either off) and nothing helps. Everything else is great, but I can't deal with this. Every channel I have, and Netflix and my SDcard all show 60Hz. Check the reviews on amazon. I am not the only one. My personal opinion is not to buy this panel if those things will bother you. The jutter and blur is pretty significant. This is the first time I have experienced it (I am coming from a Panasonic Viera TC42 ET5) and I was shocked that this is how bad it is. The Panasonic has NONE of this. Get another panel. LG can promise firmware updates all they want, but why should you have to wait. Also consider that we are nearing 2013 models coming, and I am not sure how they handle software/firmware updates once this TV is phased out. Apparently this problem was reported since release, and was JUST updated this summer in 2012. That's around 6 months to address the issue--and they failed to fix it. You saw 60 hz because that was what the signal being fed to the TV The TV then take that and interpolates the frames..ie 120hz In essence....I think it is just laying the sames frames over another one to give you the image that is solid 240hz does the same thing...though again to my knowledge LG does not have true 240hz They use a 120hz panel and use the lightsource to create a 240hz "effect" On another note...their motion interpolation..."tru motion" has never been known to be the best Check out a higher end Sony or Samsung...they both have true 240hz panels |
