LivingSocial Takeout & Delivery: $1 for $10 Food Voucher (Sale Ends 8/26/12; Vouchers Expire 9/24/2012)
------------------------------------------------------------
Update (August 27, 2012, 9:02am PDT):
This deal is now over, and a total of 12,174 vouchers were purchased! Remember to use these vouchers soon, as they expire on September 24, 2012! Here's a countdown timer to help you out:
------------------------------------------------------------
Hello, I hope you are doing well.
Livingsocial Takeout & Delivery - similar to GrubHub and Seamless - currently has a $1 for $10 promotion; that is, you pay $1 for a voucher that enables you to get up to $10 worth of food (the vouchers do not have a minimum purchase limit).
Direct link to deal [livingsocial.com]
After purchasing, locate a restaurant of your liking at the LivingSocial Takeout & Delivery site, then simply check out. You will have a chance to click a "use this voucher" button.
Please note that the entire value of each voucher must be used in a single order, and that sales tax is mandatory and the voucher will not cover it.
Sale of the vouchers end in two days, but the vouchers can be used through September 24, 2012.
Additional information (not required to know, but may be helpful):
•Although it may say Washington D.C., this actually works nationwide, as long as there are participating restaurants in your area (I posted a general list in the Wiki below). Please check to see if there are restaurants in your area by going to https://livingsocial.com/menus - and make sure you are interested in them - before purchasing. When I posted this last time, I had enough people yelling at me when they found out that the only available restaurants are "stupid" and "undelicious;" I no longer want to be the target of your yelling... haha.
•LivingSocial limits this to one purchase per account. However, I know many members here have dozens - or hundreds - of e-mail accounts. Use a virtual credit card and you can get unlimited amounts of these. The name, address, and zip code you provide do not need to match the credit card name (just remember which name you used when you pick up the food!).
•Sale of the vouchers end in two days, but the vouchers can be used through September 24, 2012. This means you can buy 30 vouchers and use one every single day to eat delicious food for a low cost over the next month!
•This deal can help out your local eateries, as LivingSocial reimburses them the full amount, minus a 10% charge (there is no transaction fee for the restaurants).
•I do not recommend self-referrals for this deal. LivingSocial seems to keep track of these and may try to ban you.
•I posted a similar deal on July 21, 2012, and 10,776 vouchers were purchased. Additionally, the post went to the frontpage of SlickDeals, with many commenting that it was one of the hottest deals in which they were able to participate.
Any questions? Let me know by replying.
Enjoy!
