Samsung Galaxy Tab

I bought the ATT Samsung Galaxy Tab deal featured on here, last year. However, the tablet is no longer holding a charge. Is there anything, I can do to fix it or diagnose the problem?

I bought it refurbed, so it is no longer under warranty. The tablet was hardly used, so I don't understand why the battery is dead.

Is there a back up app I can use, to save everything currently on the tab, so I can restore it to factory settings and see if that helps? Will the back up save all my apps, settings etc.

Sorry for the may questions, just so confused...

Sometimes there are certain apps that cause the battery to drain out fast. Try doing a factory restore to see if it works.

I also bought a refurbed unit from AT&T and mine still works great! Did you install any custom roms on it? Some of the custom roms eat up the battery faster than stock. I find that sometimes adjusting it makes a difference.

If you're feeling adventurous - you can try and getting a battery on eBay and doing it yourself by following this guide in this link here [ifixit.com]

No, I didn't do much with it. I don't have too many apps on it either.

Is there a way, I can save the apps I have now. So that I don't lose them with a factory restore.

If you are rooted yes, if not you still can get the apps back when you login ot the same play account. Why are you doing a factory restore again? How fast is the thing discharging. Given that what you have is over a year old and refurbed to start with its very possible and probably the most likely you have a bad battery.

It no longer holds a charge at all, once unplugged.

That's a failed battery, Resetting the operating system wont help. The only thing to help will be to replace the battery. It is not a good idea to root or do any other customization with a battery that won't hold a charge since most devices won't stay powered on in the bootloader or CWR with a stock cable.

They might do it, but it would probably be pretty expensive. If it was me I would do it myself with instructions I found online.
