Asus K55N-BA8094C 15.6" AMD A8-4500M, 4GB RAM, 500GB HDD - $399.99 FS

Nice laptop, but this is retail, no discrete GPU like the K53 of last year. Just an update with trinity, $450 is not a bad price, but I wouldn't consider it a deal.

Yeah, not as good as the K53TA for sure and seems like this is the replacement for it this year for Best Buy Back 2 School sale. Overall, decent machine as long as you're not expecting to game too much on it.

How is this comparable to the lenovo deal? for 450.

Graphics, this laptop wins. Processor, Lenovo.

In other words,
If gaming matters more, then this laptop wins. If processing, running cpu-intensive software, & work related tasks are more important to the overall value, then Lenovo wins.

If you're talking about Lenovo i5 3210 from Staples (that's dead and oos in most places), then Lenovo is better.
I'd take the Lenovo since the Intel hd 4000 is a good enough formidable graphics solution for graphical apps and light gaming. And the 3rd gen Intel i5 should feel stronger and faster. Despite the graphics being worse than this AMD A8(7640g), it will atleast perform as well or better than integrated graphics from AMD A6 llano(6520g). But this deal required usage of a $100 coupon and/or $100 student rebate to get it even lower to $350, and it's now oos.

However, Best Buy has some good choices (currently available) here for back to school shoppers:
ASUS i5 3210 with Intel hd 4000 @$480 --$30 more and has better CPU but little worse graphics.
Acer AMD A8 4500M $430 ---As runtohell121 stated below, the Asus in this thread is a better name brand.

Asus > Acer same/similar spec, but $20 less than the Asus for this weeks add.. Asus was never mentioned in the ad which I thought it would have been.

probably not in stock yet then I guess. Weird how it took Best Buy more than 2 weeks to be available to add to cart, but stocks might not have come in yet... Maybe next week's ad?

Which is the Intel equivalent of AMD A8-4500M ?

^I think around 2nd gen (sandy bridge) Intel i3-2310m or something in terms of CPU power, but graphics, AMD wins.
