I don't know about the browns but I just got this keyboard a few days ago ($89 from JR) and it's not nearly as loud as I thought it would be. It's not silent by any means but it's not loud (to my ears).

I do wish I had gotten a ten keyless version. Otherwise, I'm happy with it.

The one I just got last week for $89 from J&R is made in Taiwan so it is a Costar board. I have seen somebody on SD saying some/all are no longer made by Costar but I haven't been able to find any other reference to this effect. Not saying it is not true, just that my Google fu doesn't let me finding anything other than the person SD posting this information. The one last week (bought for wife) is identical in every way to the one I bought a year ago for myself.
