I'm sorry 1st grade geography is hard for some Californians...but last time I checked...49 other states existed. Many (if not all) will not have any change in Amazon tax status on 9/14/2012. Last edited by slickdealalert2; 09-12-2012 at 09:08 AM.. |

Well, it's worth knowing IF you were buying a lawn mower or something pricey. I've taken it into account here in Texas since the sales tax collection started this summer. Makes a bit of difference on a $400 mower. Kinda like not getting free shipping
 . Shop carefully kids!

it also depends on who is selling the product... even tho its prime it can be sold from another seller but fulfilled by amazon and you wont get charged tax.... =) well thats how it was for me on about 25% of my purchases in texas... ill see how california goes

Amazon has treated me well for many years with 150 orders so far (not including any digital orders), and I will go out of my way to show I am a loyal customer, even if I'm standing right in front of an item in store thats the same price.

But Yes - You are right. You are supposed to pay the Tax on the purchase - Usually when you do your State Taxes, like it is in New Jersey. Its call the Use Tax in NJ. |
