Sorry if you got that impression. OK, so it is now established that it's not a connection problem, as the rear audio out that you are using has nothing to do with the case connector which is for the front audio and microphone plugs. When you look at the playback devices, do your speakers or the audio program (perhaps AC97) show up in there? Have you looked in the device manager to be sure that the audio driverts are installed? Did you plug your speakers into the pale green plug in the back? |

![]() Ok, I should also mention that the top of my computer case. this picture. I was not able to hook up because I didn't have enough molex connections to power the front audio plugs. I'm going to see if I can pull off some digital wizardry. I'm telling you. My computer is already riddled with cables. Here's a pic I just took to show you guys what I'm dealing with. I'm a noob at building computers. My power supply is modular and I really don't want to run another molex cable. Any suggestions to tidy it up? I've never done cable management before. "Cable routing holes on the motherboard tray for easy routing and hiding cables behind the MB tray" The audio plug/connector issue and cable madness could be avoid if you read the manual. Here is the photo showing what it looks like if you tuck the cables away:

The case supplies wires from the ports to a connector that connects to the appropriate place on the motherboard. It may be that we are just using different terms, in which case, no worries. But if you have somehow managed to send power from the power supply to those USB and/or audio connections, then you'd have a serious problem on your hands. |

2. audio management software window
The front panel audio jacks may come disabled, you need to enable it through both the software and BIOS: http://www.rm.com/Support/Technic...ferrer=rss http://freeweelee.wordpress.com/2...-solution/ You have to click on the correct port and choose the correct device (speaker) to make the connection after you plug the speakers in. The instructions are in the motherboard manual Appendix. A. Also make sure the default audio device is not through any of the video card HDMI port. Also in the BIOS settings make sure the front panel audio is enabled. The front panel audio jacks has nothing to do with the power. Last edited by teetee1; 08-26-2012 at 09:07 PM.. |
