This is a pain in the neck and I have to call it every year to keep my rate or threaten by go to what, DSL?. Can't wait for Google's new fiber internet come to my town. TWC around here will pretty much tell you to go F yourself. they have no problem disconnecting you. there is nothing else, and they know it.

Yeah I have a feeling that I will have no luck. Time Warner is basically a monopoly in my area.
I will try and call and threaten that I am switching over to direct tv because they are cheaper and have way more sports options. I will say I will switch my internet provider as well. Anyone have any ideas on the best things to say to retentions? To be honest I don't want to call to cancel and actually cancel lol. |

twc "turbo" is suck, i got it last month. it's not consistent lacking up from 12 ~ 16 most of the time, don't even think on upload. After first month, upgraded to Ultimate, and they swapped out the netgear modem for the brand new Motorola, and the line a lot better now, ping better too, no more random disconnect when playing CoD, or D3.
For modem rental, they are charging for $2.50 per month, b4 tax here at Dallas Metro. Recommend Verizon Fios if available in ur area, the line/ping stable all the time. |

The thing is if you get your own modem/router then if you have problem with internet and call them, you will hear, sorry we only give support for our own equipment only! |

Yea, i also need to know what best to say to resention. I'm running 10/1 but started with 3/1 @ 19.99 a month. I'm running VOIP and was planning on going with there basic high speed after nov (0.75 mega bytes per second) @ 24.99. 10/1 only feels faster then 3/1 when i download a big file. Same slowness going from website to website. |

The problem is after our phone becomes voip, the internet has been essential to household like gas and electricity, except it is not yet as cheap as gas or electricity as in some other parts of developed world. |

Not sure if I got a SD, but I was paying 29.99 for 10 Mps. plus $4.95 rental of the combo router/modem. I called today I was offered Turbo for $5 month extra L.A area
