I've got a pile of coins but had never used the Coinstar machines because I didn't want to pay their fee. Great to know that gift cards are "free". However, I thought my local Publix grocery stores had them, but a search on Coinstar.com only comes up with Winn Dixie and Wal-mart locations near me (where I never go). I'll have to look at Publix and see what brand their machines are. But.. I've been using credit cards for far more purchases lately, so I don't get many coins at all any more. |

Regarding accurately counting change, I have one of those coin banks from Target after Christmas sale ($2.50). I'd say the Coinstar machine that I went to today was fairly accurate.
Next run, I'll do an exact count comparison and see how they match up. |
