Fark Ebay, Paypal, and every other shady company they have their mits on. I can't believe that a viable competitor has not come along yet to either shut these fools down or at least give them a run for their money, and make them think twice about their god complex. All they do is buy up most of the up and coming auction / classifieds sites so that they really have no competition and can make whatever rules/fees/etc. they want, because they know they are the only game in town. And yes, they even have a share of Craigslist.... http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/List...ns_by_eBay
Did eBay really buy Skype ? I didn'y know that, and the referenced article is for the acquisition of an auction house (Butterfield and Butterfield), not Skype.
I'm not a lawyer, but I'm pretty sure you can never waive your right to sue. Like when you sign a paper releasing a sky diving company from responsibility if you die. It's worthless and doesn't hold up. Not sure if arbitration like this is also simply a scare tactic or not.
I really wish there was a competitive alternative to ebay. Right now they can do whatever the hell they want since they have the online auction monopoly.
Yep -- they have destroyed what they once were. Of course, a big part of that has been places like Slickdeals and the general information flow on the web that allows us to find much better deals (and sellers) than can be found on eBAY. They had to adjust to the change in online retail and have made an absolute crap load of ridiculous policy and rule changes in the process.
left ebay a looong time ago. just like every other company that got too big for its britches, they'll be insignificant soon enough. good riddance to bad rubbish, the only people who use ebay now are scammers and slackjaws.
I've received 3 of them over the years. $0.56, $0.72, and $0.36.
I forgot to cash one of mine. I feel so stupid for not spending $1.00 + in gas to bring it to the bank, and not making sure their bulk rate stamp, paper, and labor to pay employees and lawyers to send the letter went to good use.
I haven't been using eBay as much as I used to but I have never been screwed over by them or pay-pal. Knock on wood. I don't think I'm going to opt out but If they ever screw me I'll just take my business elsewhere at that point.
