Thread Details

World Elite Mastercard (WEMC) is the top tier credit card for those with excellent credit, among other requirements--- depending on the card issuer.

Below are the companies that offer this card. In some cases, you cannot apply directly, you have to receive an invitation from the company. Or, in some case(s) you have to call the company to get an application, you cannot apply online. :

1. CITIBANK
a. Citi Thank You Prestige Card
https://creditcards.citi.com/cred...tige-card/

b. Citi Executive Aadvantage
https://creditcards.citi.com/cred...astercard/

2. AMERIPRISE FINANCIAL
http://banking-credit.ameriprise....ercard.asp

NOTE: This card has the lowest APR I have seen on a WEMC or any credit card for that matter--- it is only 6.24%. The next lowest I have seen is for a Visa Platinum card from Simmons First National Bank with an APR of 7.25%.
This card charges a foreign transaction fee, which most do. However, the Citibank WEMC do not charge a foreign transaction fee, neither does the JP Morgan Palladium VISA credit card.

3. SAKS FIFTH AVENUE
info:
https://www.saksfifthavenue.com/S...nefits.jsp

Note: The Saks card and MasterCard is operated by Capital One. It appears you must have a Saks Store Card account before applying for the World Elite MC.

4. BANK OF MONTREAL
http://www.bmo.com/home/personal/...mastercard

Note: Must be a resident of Canada.

5. MORGAN STANLEY SMITH BARNEY
http://fa.morganstanleyindividual...tSheet.pdf

Note: You must be an investment client with them in order to apply. You may contact them at 1 800 688 3462, and they have another 800 # in order to apply for the card, or email to worldcard@morganstanley.com .

The one below is NEW ! :

6. FIRST HAWAIIN BANK
https://www.fhb.com/creditcards.htm

Note: You must call 1 888 844 4444 to request an application be mailed to you for their World Elite MasterCard. You cannot apply online. Their card is called "Priority RewardsSM Premier World Elite [MasterCard) Credit Card" . This bank is a division of BNP Paribas (Banque National de Paris), which also owns Bank of the West and other companies.

UPDATE: You may also call direct at 1 808 643 CARD to apply. I would suggest getting a physical application although, just so you have a record and can make a copy before you send it off. I received the physical application in the U.S. Mail.

That is NOT a World Elite MasterCard, I had that card too when the fee was $95, and it is not a WEMC; The fee is now $125 and it is still not a WEMC. ONLY the Citi Thank You Prestige is a WEMC ($500 annual fee) or the Citi Aadvantage Executive Card WEMC ($450 annual fee) If you don't believe me see www.citicards.com or call them.
...nor does it have unlimited lounge access or unlimited companion ticket, of which the former would be amazing at $75 annually. It makes you wonder how much he/she actually uses any of the "benefits" of the card instead of talking about the "prestige." $75-125 annual fee wasted compared to fee-free cards with similar or better benefits.

I've never heard of anyone phrase benefits such that they "feel great using it." :eyeroll:

Regardless, I'm looking at the Citi TY Premier, and I see nothing about free airport lounge or unlimited companion airline tickets (just one ticket annual, with rates that I'm guessing are junk anyway). Unless I'm missing something, the benefits listed for $75 legacy or $125 AF card seems pointless compared to some AF-free cards. Unless, of course, you "feel great" paying $75 for some kind of perceived "prestige."
Look at the reply above me, someone was accusing OP of the need to feel great or whatever about it. I was being facetious when I said I not only feel great about it but don't have to pay a high fee Embarrassment

My Citi TY Premier does have airport lounge access and unlimited companion tickets.

See my reply to you with respect to the "prestige" aspect of the card. And my $75 annual fee card does come with the aforementioned benefits. In fact my $0 AF Discover card also has airport lounge access but no companion offer bounce

No annual fee card with free lounge access? What incredible card is this? I would sign up in a heart beat.

That may be true for your Discover product, but, the Citi Premier card is -not- a world elite mastercard. It may be a world mastercard, but it is not a world elite mastercard, as that would be a contradiction in terms for the citi group of cards. The world elite credit cards is strictly for the Prestige Card and the AA Exec. card. You can call Citi they will tell you or look at their website. They cannot have or offer a Premier World Elite credit card as it is published no where, among other things. (regardless whether it is by invitation or not). If you were invited, they would invite you for a Prestige World Elite Mastercard, for example, but they didnt, which means your credit is not excellent and/or your low purchase volume and/or other reasons. Actually the invitation ONLY citibank credit card is the not the prestige credit card, but a different card all together, which you cannot apply for online at all. ---In asia it is called the Citibank ULTIMA card, but in the USA it is called the Citi Chairman's Credit Card

Links to Citi Chairman's credit card by operated by American Express:

Mastercard levels go like this:

Standard
Gold
Platinum
World (like USAA World MC or Citi Premier World MasterCard)
World Elite (like Citi Prestige or AA Exec. World Elite MC).

If you read my post a couple of pages you'll see that citi does invite some people with the TYP card to the world elite version: http://slickdeals.net/f/5113706-How-where-to-get-a-World-Elite-MasterCard-other-top-tier-credit-cards?v=1&p=52865508#post52865508

Thank you! Rep'd. One more question, why would we want to use Chase's hotel/airline program? I thought those deals suck, meaning, aren't we better off to cash out first then use Priceline or Expedia to get better hotel/airline fare?
I haven't heard about those 'deals' sucking. I thought they priced the same as everybody else for commodity stuff. In any case, it depends on what you're buying and how many points you have. You get a 25% bonus booking through Chase (if you have Sapphire or Ink Bold), so if you're buying a $200 ticket you can get it for the points-equivalent of $160. It certainly wouldn't make sense to transfer 25,000 points to get the same ticket.

However, the 1.25% return is still pretty low compared to what you can get when transferring the points strategically. If you can get a high priced airline ticket for the points you might get several cents per point. The same can go for a hotel room.

If you cash out, you just get 1 cent per point. If Chase is offering the same price as Expedia, then it makes no sense to take the 1 cent value when you can get the extra 25% through Chase. Priceline obviously is a different animal if you are doing Name Your Own Price.

Citibank also has a World Elite Dividend Mastercard.

I've had a standard CB MC for a long time (never used it, but had a high CL so kept it). They sent my wife and I at least 2-3 new card offers per week (not joking). Everything type of card they offered, with various promotions. I called them to see if I could upgrade my card instead of getting a new one. In the end, the World Dividend card (no annual fee) seemed to be the best option for me. I asked about the World Elite, which they had too, but she said I needed to have the World card for a period of time before qualifying.

Not sure about the annual fee.
