No. The bluray player and the TV can "communicate" with each other so the bluray player will "know" you do not have a 3D TV.
On another note, if you are worried about those movies being useless to you, you should check if they come with the 2D version. I only have on 3D bluray and that movie came with the 2D version as well.
Your best bet is to go into the Menu for the Panasonic 3D Blu-ray player and turn off the 3D features so it will play in 2D. Most 3D movies are bundled with a 2D BR or DVD so you should be covered either way.
