Could it be another issue? I had this issue of the computer freezing and BSOD. It turns out i believe a ram card or video card slipped or something and i reseated all the cards(ram and video card)

I'm telling you its the AMD processor...go Intel and be happy or continue to bang you head against the wall.
AMD's have all sorts of quirks. |

Did you use Windows drivers or downloaded the latest one for your AMD chipset? It sounds controller related since it happens when you hook up all your other drives. Or it could be the opposite ie. the AMD drivers, then try the Microsoft AHCI drivers instead. From what I can find searching around it seems the AMD drivers at least some versions are buggy. I'd try the latest AMD drivers first if you don't already have it...

Also, how much of a degrade in performance would I notice if I were to use the Microsoft ones instead? Last edited by Mo786; 09-13-2012 at 07:07 PM.. |

I'll try this for the next 6 or 7 days. If I get another freeze then I'm gonna exchange it for another one at Newegg. I only have 6 or 7 days before I can get a new one. |

I know you don't want to hear what I have to say... but I'm actually trying to help. Since you seem to want to stay with AMD then you most likely will have to change the SSD to another brand OR if staying with this SSD use IDE not AHCI.
AMD has terrible AHCI drivers. Thats your issue guaranteed. Like I said AMD it either works or doesn't and has quirks. Intel usually just works. SSD's in general are not nearly as reliable as a HDD and even Intel is no guarantee it'll work flawlessly. How long have you been troubleshooting this?.... listen and have an open mind.
