Can't change name on facebook without uploading a government photo ID?

is the recent slowness of the site due to the new facebook invasion? Half of the time my pages just get stuck loading so I have to stop and refresh, sometimes a couple times just for a page to load fully

Delete it & create a new one (or better yet, don't).

Don't live your life on FB - all of those links you're seeing all over the place when you're logged in? That's the data that FB is collecting about you to sell to marketers who can now target you based on all of your web surfing habits. FB has a MOUNTAIN of data on you - they know where you surf to; then know where you live & where you eat out; where you shop & what you buy; what games you play and who you're friends with, etc etc etc.

Mark Z's idea for facebook is that EVERY TRANSACTION you do on the internet will go through them - this is why you now see a facebook logon on just about everything you can log into (including SD now). I never have & never will use that 'log in through Facebook!' link on anything I subscribe to, because I don't want ANY marketing company to know that much about me.

Just remember - if you use a free web service, you're not a customer - you're the product being sold. (I forget who said that originally, but props to them.)

Finally, "undesirable" profiles accounted for the remainder, about 14m, which are deemed to be in breach of Facebook's terms and conditions. The company said this typically means accounts that have been set up to send spam messages or content to other Facebook users.

Indeed they are and ANYONE THAT GIVES THEM A PHOTO ID IS MORE HOPELESS THAN I THOUGHT! (And i saw someone in the last week saying they couldnt access thier acct so they did it)

Well thank you my friend.... THIS IS A VERY SERIOUS ISSUE and most ppl do not realise just how serious it is!!

In some states, the use of a fake driver's license has been made into a felony. A felony is more serious than a misdemeanor. In the short term, it means more jail time, higher fines, and years-long suspension of driving privileges. In the long term, a felony means you now have a criminal record. That will make it much harder for you to find a job, it can mean difficulties getting into school, and you may never be allowed to own a gun or vote.

If you actually reproduce a physical copy sure you could get in some trouble. I really doubt the same laws would apply to a digital image sent to a business. You might violate the site's tos or even commit perjury depending on how the site worded and structured things, but a felony, doubtful.
