Just installed it this morning and windows took forever to load. Tried running the windows memory test but it wouldn't even run. Maybe I got a bad pair? Or maybe it's not compatible with the laptop?

Return it or sell it on eBay, the 6GB standard memory is working better.

No rebate for me yet. Mine stated that it was mailed 11-7. Where are they mailing it from China? I live in the same state to where I mailed it to.

I checked yesterday and my name wasn't even in their database.

Mine was mailed 10/5. They say I'm suppose to wait 2 to 3 weeks. Well, it's been over a month and still nothing.

mine was mailed 10/31/2012 and it has been almost 3 weeks but still nothing in the mail. I thought I was the only one not receiving the rebate card. at least sort of a relief to find out that others are in the same boat.

Perhaps they use the same mail program as 1saleaday?

I just got mine yesterday. So if mine is any indication, expect between 6-7 weeks from when they mail it.

It says 15$ rebate. From where do we need to purchase? Can anyone who has done it, share their ideas/thoughts?

i just got this exact RAM from newegg and installed in my z580. i am having the EXACT same problems as you Compaq. When i tried to refresh the windows experience, it actually froze up. had to reboot again and took a super long time...and im running an SSD. switched BIOS to just UMA graphics only and BAM! loaded up in 3 secs. thought maybe i needed to update the bios or something but everything in the laptop is up-to-date. i didnt even bother w/ memtest since once it loads, it's fine. so i just switched back to the stock ram.
im gonna return this crappy RAM and wait for a sale for some better stuff. disappointed.

My rebate just came in the mail. Online status showed mailed date of 11/7 and then it disappeared so I was worried. But it came!

Combined with a $60 120gb Kingston HyperX SSD, this is the best laptop deal I've seen all year long.
