Its no different than the big sales at B&M stores. Normal, working people cant get the best deals at the stores because they're working! And what you end up with is a store filled with lowlifes who can stand outside a store all night because they dont have to worry about making it to their job on time the next morning. I'm not calling people here at slickdealz lowlifes. I'm just generalizing. |

And as I already said, they probably only had 10 for sale. Notice how all the other Lenovo laptops are still available and have gotten many more facebook "likes" then the $279 one. It seems obvious that they have a boatload of the more expensive laptops. They lure you in with the amazing $279 deal and then once you realize its sold out, they hope that you'll consider buying the $349 laptop since it "only" $79 more.

So is the A8 I just bought not such a Slick Deal? Wife needed a Windows laptop for school and when she gets one I inherit her 2011 Macbook Pro. Thinking of canceling this now and waiting for something better.

 But look, popping a vein over something like a missed laptop deal will shorten your life and diminish its quality. There will always be more deals and BETTER deals in the future. So think of this as a benchmark to beat for the laptop you eventually buy. Look forward to looking back on this one and thinking, 'Ha, I got a better deal than that!'. A rep and a hope that SD brings you only good and doesn't contribute to your early demise. |

I see nothing about being a student to get the prepaid visa. I know at staples you had to have student id to get the discount for the lenovos. I will repost in this thread if there are any issues with the rebate.
Thanks to the op, I can't believe I'm finally getting a new laptop for that cheap! |
