why is this getting no love? Seems like a lot for the $$. If I wanted to use this for a development database server (SQL Server) on the cheap - would this be a good candidate? Just a sandbox/playground not a production or test machine. I have licenses to upgrade the OS.

I like this deal, lots of specs, better processor then the lenovo laptop on the FP (better score on the benchmark test). Good deal!

Well, I bit. I have been running on a compaq 512Mb memory and 100g hard drive and I have been complaining incessantly about the length of time it takes me to do anything!! Hubby told me to stop complaining and buy something I can use! I still wanted a desktop and had Office Depot Rewards money to use so I picked up the last one at my store. Don't they give you discounts for displays?? Mine was on display and I know it was not plugged in or anything, but don't I get some discount for the paw handling of it LOL

I bought one the other day, very nice machine. I upped my RAM to 8gb and added a Sandisk 120gb SSD, also ordered a graphics card to get back to running dual monitors and HDMI to my projector.

It does have at least 1 PCI-E x16 and I think 3 PCI-E x1...something along those lines. I know I can add a graphics card and that is as far as I looked into it.

Can you say what Mobo is in there? You could run CPU-z and it would tell you very easily I'm guessing it's a Foxconn, that's typically Lenovo's way..

Under Motherboard it says Manufacture: Lenovo, Model: Mahobay

If that doesn't sound what your looking for let me know, never used anything like CPUZ

No, that doesn't help; I'm looking for make & model; CPU-Z is available for download here [ftp]it's a very small [4mb] install, free but will try to install an "Ask" toolbar, be sure to uncheck during install; simply gives you the direct specs of your system. After installing, run it and select the Mainboard tab; that should tell you the Manufacturer, model & chipset. I'd be very curious to see all of the above Will be sure to rep, appreciate your help!

hahaha "To Be Filled in by OEM" that's hilarious, well I plan on picking up the system and I'll be upgrading some hardware so I'll physically be looking at the board and will see what's up with it. THANKS again for your time & effort, this is a great deal hope I can find one

Only cost me $18 to add another 4GB SDRAM chip to the previous $280 Staples deal, making the total cost $298 to upgrade it to 8 GB of RAM. So Staples deal was still a lot better. However this deal is currently the best all around bang for the buck deal for those who like the versatility (i.e. ability to modify) of a desktop.
