confused. You can't have a local computer profile and an AD profile named the same. It has to be one or the other -- and in my opinion, the only local profile you should have on a computer that is connected to an AD network is an admin profile. Then, you would have network admin(s) user(s) on the machine through AD, but none of them would be "named" admin.
At my place of work, we haven't had much luck using roaming profiles. Your printer issue 'could be' that you are installing your printers on the network and sharing them, rather than actually installing the printer drivers as local printers on each individual machine. Depending on the size of your network, this could work well, or not. We find that with over 300 computers in the AD network -- it is not a good idea. Having over 90 printers on in the network bogs down the server the printers are shared off of trying to work as a print server, when this server has to also administer AD and other tasks, as well. For that reason, we install all the printers individually as local on each machine for each user. None of our printers are installed as network printers. Be sure to update before running it.
Get Malwarebytes free edition [cnet.com] Be sure to update before running it. Get SuperAntiSpyware free edition (SAS) [cnet.com] Be sure to update before running it. |
