Anyone ever had Lasik?

You don't seem to get the fact that AT LEAST 3-4% have a lifelong negative outcome after LASIK. Again I know first hand.\ I saw those patients year in and out getting glasses or contacts from me...I was their sympathetic ear.

That means you have about a 1 in 20 chance of being WORSE OFF than before for life.

If you like 1 in 20 odds fine.

Other than that a LASIK success the other 96-97% report 20/20 -ish or better with "minor" issues not considered major (Dry eyes, contrast sensitivity loss, glare, halos) you know minor non-debilitating things on par with the "hassle" of buying/wearing glasses or contacts... which BTW in almost every case give you better vision quality than LASIK.

Remember people will ultimately puff up their results to not look like they got robbed. I know I'd be reluctant to think my $5k surgery not covered by insurance was not worth it.

LASIK has risks... if you ABSOLUTELY HATE wearing glasses/contacts it "may" be worth it to take such risks.

Best candidates are around age 25 with sm or medium dilated pupils
With around 2 diopter of correction max and not much astigmatism.

All others either too old or too much needing to be vaporized to correct.

Any other candidate raises the risks significantly.



Its actually sort of barbaric when you think of it.

Anyhow our business went UP after LASIK started. You'd think it'd be the opposite.

I got lucky I suppose I had no idea of the risk going in and got lucky it seems. That's a creepy picture is that the surgery?
